Output value accounts for 60% of the local market

Launched high-speed engraving and milling machining center and waterjet machine

CHMER, one of the top five companies in the world and the largest domestic electric discharge machine and wire cutting machine industry, accounting for 60% of the domestic output value, recently launched a high-speed engraving and milling machining center and a waterjet machine, becoming a benchmark enterprise leading Taiwan's mold equipment.

CHMER is one of the largest manufacturers of CNC electrical discharge machines, CNC wire cutting machines and engraving and milling machines in China. The machines are equipped with key innovative technologies such as self-made PC-Based CNC controllers, 6-second automatic threading devices and linear motors to dominate the market. Among the global electric discharge machine manufacturers, it ranks second only to Switzerland's Charmilles, Japan's Sodick, Fanuc and Mitsubishi.

Wang Wuxiong, chairman of CHMER, is also the chairman of the Precision Machinery Research and Development Center (PMC). He has focused on the innovative research and development of mold equipment for more than 30 years, successfully established a complete electric discharge processing machine value chain, and along the way led Taiwan to win the world's electric discharge machining The reputation of the machine kingdom.

Wang Wuxiong believes that after the advent of high-speed engraving and milling machines, they will significantly replace the electric discharge machine market and change the mold equipment ecology. High-speed engraving and milling machines, combined with CAM, are fast and can process hardened steel with fine surfaces. Engraving and mold processing will Continued decline, including electric discharge, wire cutting and deep hole processing machines are all designed towards multi-axis processing such as A, B, C, etc. General electric discharge processing machines may continue to decline, but special-purpose electric discharge processing machines such as powder electric discharge processing machines and energy-saving electric discharge processing As long as the functional performance can meet customer needs and the price is competitive, this is an opportunity for us. The following is a summary of the exclusive interview.

Improved processing machines to solve processing dust problems

Question: CHMER innovatively develops high-speed engraving and milling machining centers. What is its market value?

Answer: The high-speed engraving and milling machining center can directly process hardened steel with HRC60 degree. Therefore, some of the tasks that were originally performed by the engraving electric discharge machine have been largely replaced by high-speed engraving and milling machining centers, and are widely used in fine red copper or Processing of graphite electrodes.

The high-speed engraving and milling machining center has the characteristics of high speed, high precision and high efficiency. The only disadvantage is the price. CHMER Company has successfully applied the PC-Based numerical controller that has been used in self-made CNC engraving electric discharge machines and wire cutting machines for many years in high-speed Engraving and milling machining centers significantly reduce costs and maintenance costs.

Question: The price of red copper materials has been rising recently. Since graphite electrodes are significantly better than red copper electrodes during discharge, graphite processing easily produces a large amount of dust. How can CHMER break through this technology?

Answer: Graphite electrodes have many advantages. For example, processing graphite electrodes saves a lot of time compared with red copper materials. However, the dust generated by graphite processing can easily cause damage to the processing machine.

CHMER has developed an oil curtain device for graphite processing machines. After many R&D improvements, it has continued to innovate in speed for high-speed spindles. It has developed an oil curtain that still maintains high coverage even under high-speed machining conditions of 30,000 rotations of the spindle, and a filter oil tank. There is continuous self-circulation in the process, and the dust generated after graphite processing is brought to the dust collecting oil tank with the oil curtain, completely blocking the dust.

The first CNC controller manufacturer with self-made technology

Question: In order to cope with the diversification of processing materials, what is the market application of the high-pressure waterjet machine developed by CHMER?

Answer: There is no heat concentration when using a high-pressure waterjet cutting machine, and the cutting surface is smooth and flat without burrs. Usually no secondary processing is required. It has been widely used by processing OEMs. The discharge wire cutting machine is used with a high-pressure waterjet cutting machine. The processing time can be more than doubled. Recently, domestic professional high-pressure waterjet cutting OEM factories have been established to cut various materials.

Question: CHMER Company and ITRI cooperated to complete the first CNC PC-Based numerical controller in China, which has attracted much attention in the industry. What was the process?

Answer: In cooperation with the Industrial Research Institute, we successfully developed a CNC PC-Based numerical controller, which is used on CNC wire cutting machines. It has been improved from 13 PC boards to the current three PC boards. It has successfully laid the foundation for self-made CNC controller technology and also cultivated Graduated as a senior software engineer and became the first domestic mold equipment manufacturer capable of developing and producing CNC PC-Based controllers.
