27 years ago, five major domestic machine tool manufacturers felt that precision machinery was an important pillar industry of the country. In order to enhance the country's competitiveness, the then Minister of Economic Affairs Zhao Yaodong convened the establishment of the Precision Machinery Development Association (CMD) of the Republic of China.
