The 30th Chairman of the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) Machine Tool Professional Committee and General Manager of CHMER, Mr. Wang Chen-Hong, pointed out that Taiwan’s machine tool industry faces three major challenges: declining global demand due to geopolitical conflicts, the US-China trade war, and the rise of new energy vehicles. The low-end market is being taken over by China, while the high-end market is dominated by Japan. Despite these challenges, Taiwan must strive for upward development rather than moving production to China.

The 30th Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS 2025) will take place from March 3 to 8, 2025, at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2, and Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1, with over 1,000 exhibitors occupying more than 100,000 square meters, expecting 50,000 domestic and international buyers.

Before the exhibition, the magazine interviewed Mr. Wang Chen-Hong to share his insights and observations on the machine tool market.
